Oh, I am so sorry to hear this, it is so tragic! You know time heals everything… Aacha, you know Mere sath bhi yehi hua tha (something very similar happened with me too) and you know I did … etc etc etc…

Since when did grief and suffering become a competition? Why can’t people just be there for each other instead of imposing their stories and talking about their struggles? Little empathy, maybe?

Every journey is different, every battle is personal hence let’s stop comparing as no hardships are the same. With maturity comes peace, when you realize that it’s better to have your close circle or rather yourself for your own sanity as multiple people mean multiple opinions.

In a world that often seems chaotic and challenging, there’s a simple yet profound choice we can make every day: to prioritize peace and kindness over chaos and comparison. It’s a choice that can transform not only our own lives but also the lives of those around us. This choice revolves around a fundamental concept: Empathy.

Empathy is the ability to understand and share the feelings of another. It’s a quality that connects us as human beings, reminding us that, at our core, we all experience joy and pain, success and failure, love and loss. Yet, in the hustle and bustle of our daily lives, it’s easy to forget the importance of empathy and replace it with competition and comparison.

Empathy is not about one-upping someone else’s pain or suffering. It’s about offering a listening ear, a shoulder to lean on, and a kind word when it’s needed most. When we choose empathy over comparison, we create a safe space for others to express their feelings and experiences without fear of judgment or competition.

Every journey is unique. We all face different challenges and hardships, and it’s unfair to compare one person’s struggles to another’s. What may seem like a small hurdle to one person could be a monumental obstacle to another. When we acknowledge this truth, we free ourselves from the burden of comparison and allow empathy to flourish. Empathy builds bridges and strengthens connections, making our communities and relationships strong.

In our quest for empathy, it’s essential to remember that it begins with ourselves. Self-compassion is the foundation upon which empathy is built. By treating ourselves with kindness and understanding, we become better equipped to offer the same to others. It’s a reminder that we, too, deserve empathy and kindness, especially during our most challenging moments.

Ultimately, empathy and kindness are choices we make daily. We can choose to listen without comparing, to understand without competing, and to offer solace without judgment. It’s a choice that requires us to look beyond ourselves and see the humanity in others.

In a world where chaos often rules, let us be beacons of empathy and kindness. Let us choose peace over chaos, understanding over comparison, and love over competition. In doing so, we can create a world where empathy is the currency of connection, and kindness is the cornerstone of our relationships.

I’m glad you resonate with the sentiment! It’s absolutely true, empathy is not a competition. It’s about understanding and supporting each other, without comparing or trying to outdo one another’s struggles or feelings. It’s about being there, wholeheartedly, for one another. You have a gift for making feelings and ideas come alive in a way that anyone can understand and appreciate.
