Maa, Mummy, Mom, Amma, Ayi– Bhukh lagi ha, please kuch Khila do. Our expressions might be different but our feelings are the same. There is an untold love story between every Mother and her family, especially her kids. While growing up every kid has a question which is repeated on a daily basis- Maa, aaj khane mein kya ha? (What is there to eat today). Our eyes light up with excitement and love on days when Maa cooks something that we like, basically our favorite dish.
Those adrenaline rush, long hours in schools- lunch break kab hoga (when are we breaking for lunch)? the constant thoughts while being in school and just waiting to open our wonder box in front of our friends and relishing the food cooked with love. That’s our untold love story. Our Maa ka Pyar, A Mother’s Love.
Truly, a mother’s love is unconditional and can bridge the gap between generations, filling our hearts with warmth and our bellies with love. A mother’s culinary creations are more than just meals; it’s our lasting connection, an undisclosed tale of affection that nurtures both the physical being and the spirit.
Fast forward to a few years, young adults move out of their homes for higher education or professional careers. Maa- Ghar ki bahut yaad aate ha( Mom, missing home a lot) becomes our daily realization. We miss the comfort, we miss being protected and we miss GHAR KA KHANA.
Years change, time changes, and everything around us changes. We take up different roles and responsibilities and in this fast-paced life we tend to forget the essence of innocence, our simpler days, and then one random day it hits us, and we take out our mobile to call or simply book our tickets for home. The first sense of happiness is Maa ke hath ka Khana (Food cooked by MAA). In this complex life, this escape seems so relaxing and comforting.
A plate full of warm food, it comforts our souls and we have no idea how happy Moms’ are when she looks at their child enjoying a simple meal. It’s her whole heart.
“ Maa- I have booked my tickets, coming next Friday. Please make chicken curry for dinner. Saturday let’s go out for lunch and dinner can you please make Yakhni pulao? Aacha Maa, this time I want to have dal makhani and khadi too. Maa, I am coming home…..”

What a wonderful way to put it across Richa ji. Whether it’s the aroma of spices coming through the kitchen or the familiar taste of childhood favorites, a mother’s cooking is a source of nostalgia and solace. It reminds us of the simple joys of home and the special bond between a mother and her child, making each bite a precious memory.
Thank you so much for your lovely comment.
Indeed! Mom’s are pure angels, they are happiness and they make everything seem so easy for us. Their smile and simply their presence make everything All Right 🙂
