Pretend Play!

As kids, we all have indulged in pretend play and been happy by exploring our imaginative side and living a part which is not reality, in true sense.

Trust me, talk to any grown up right now and have a meaningful conversation and you will understand that a lot of us are still playing this dam game- Pretend to the outside world that all is fine and you are doing ABSOLUTELY OKAY, and that becomes the way of living.

Its easier to just go numb and emotionless and just pretend to be fine and act according to others- It avoids drama in your life and gives 0 to no chance to anyone to disappoint you any further

For kids, pretending is a fun way to escape; whether they are superheroes, explorers, or pirates, it’s all about exploring the endless possibilities without worrying about being judged. The game is brief, enjoyable, and cheerful; after finishing it, you return to reality unharmed and whole. But as adults, the act of pretending takes on a different, much heavier role. It becomes a survival mechanism, a way to shield ourselves from the weight of our true emotions.

Rather than wearing a cape, we choose to smile to hide our vulnerability and act as though nothing is wrong. In contrast to children’s joyful pretend play, adult “pretending to be fine” is a protective strategy rather than an exercise in imagination. We build barriers around our true emotions out of concern that doing so will make us appear weak or let people down. And by doing this, we keep our actual selves buried under a facade of stability, trapping ourselves in a vicious cycle, frequently without even realizing the emotional toll it takes. As children it was supposed to be innocent and joyful, but now it’s a coping mechanism that causes us to lose touch with our own feelings. Maybe thats the new healing

“A day might come when we will sit down and have a meaningful conversation. Until then, let’s safeguard the walls around us, revealing a little to the world while keeping much hidden.”-RVA

Hey, Almost Youngsters and Middle-aged youngsters! Wassup? You look tired, No, I mean not physical appearance but overall… So, Wassup broken souls?

Everyone out there is indeed fighting a battle, trying not to give up and go with the flow! Also, indeed, the grass is always greener on the other side, our problems and challenges are always greater than others. We live in a world where suppressing our thoughts seems better than sharing them, a generation where we all live PERFECT LIVES, ON SOCIAL MEDIA, FOR SURE! But, what happens when the camera goes off? The reality is too harsh ha? Better to fake it till we make it?

With the perfect smile and the most charming aura, I live on. I laugh at a joke the most and come across as the most cheerful BINDASS Person, well, I am a BROKEN SOUL! And in no way I can get it all together. It’s a clear MESS! Do you feel me?

We are there in the moment but not totally there at all, we are busy doing something but 50% of our thoughts are wandering somewhere else, ring a bell? Thinking so much that we are nicely tagged as overthinkers, tossing and rolling in bed to sleep, the simple joys of life are a pain now. Festivals and occasions don’t excite us anymore and we just smile on to live on.

DISTRACTION IS THE NEW ATTRACTION! The less we speak about this, the better for us. We have indeed lost hope in everything and we have realised that only we have OUR OWN BACK!:) Nothing hurts us anymore, no one can disappoint us as we are doing all this to ourselves and have no hope left from anyone.

Despite the darkness and difficulties, a ray of faith shines through the gaps. Within every broken soul, there is an incredible beauty, a resilience that transcends the odds. Each scar offers a survival story, demonstrating the fierce spirit within. True beauty comes in moments of vulnerability and grief since these experiences allow us to learn, grow, and eventually shine brighter than before. Even in the middle of chaos and uncertainty, every damaged soul possesses a quiet strength, a beacon of hope that guides them through the darkest of nights.

“ I am tired of calling out for help, I am done with isolation and darkness. I am my own HERO now and this broken soul of mine is my pain and medicine. It keeps my engine running and fuels my life with desire, passion, and a ray of HOPE. I am tired of calling for help, Thank you for nothing and I LOVE MYSELF”- RVA

As I sit alone, I can hear kids playing somewhere nearby, the cold breeze and laughter around. It was all so different last year, this exact time. It was so much fuller and happier. It’s a complete full circle, nothing has changed in general but everything has changed, personally.

You look at yourself, practically every day in front of the mirror, right? A few days you feel that Wow, I look lovely, and on a few you just don’t feel too great, well then also more or less it is the same. Well, my friend, after those 365 days you realize that Oh! A lot has changed, not drastically but organically. Not feeling the same way anymore, feeling detached, and lacking excitement are some of the normal feelings, nowadays. What’s happening to us? To everyone outside, we are fine but to our soul, finding answers every day.

Life is a tapestry woven with threads of change, each one leaving its mark on the fabric of our being. As we go through the ebb and flow of time, we have experiences that shape our perceptions and redefine our sense of ourselves. From moments of triumph to times of adversity, every twist and turn shapes us into the people we are intended to be. We, like clay in the hands of a skillful potter, are continuously sculpted by the forces of evolution, adjusting to our ever-changing landscape.

In this furnace of transformation, we find the human spirit’s determination and the potential to evolve. Challenges become chances for self-discovery, while defeats open the path for new strengths. Each day, we lose layers of our past selves, becoming stronger, smarter, and more compassionate. Finally, it is through the process of transformation that we discover the genuine essence of our being, so embrace the trip with open hearts and minds.

“ You don’t smile the same, you react a lot and you are JUST NOT GOOD. Maybe, I am failing in each role, because in this give-and-take relationship, I miss being myself, I miss the genuine love and care, which does not exist anymore. I am tired of hearing the biggest lie and I am tired of this facade- I love you. Yes, I don’t smile the same and react a lot because, in this give-and-take, I miss myself. After all, in this full circle, you meet yourself some day or the other.”- RVA.
